Experience the main creative elements of Hip Hop culture in just one week. Campers discover their artistic sides by getting hands-on with the bold, stylish techniques of Graffiti Writing. They also experiment with DJing practice–learning to scratch and mix it up on the turntables. Campers get creative with writing too, learning to rock the mic as Emcees, using their mouth as a instrument to Beat Box. And, of course, we learn the true authentic style of Breakin. These are the important elements of Hip Hop culture. The camp culminates in a Showcase on Friday evening of camp week. This is the only place where you will find elements like Graffiti practice (with spray paint!), DJing instruction, and authentic Breakin’ teaching–all with an emphasis on Hip Hop history and the true missions of the movement: peace, love, unity, and having fun.

First Class FREE!

The Break Free Kansas City Hip Hop School program operates on a 12 month, progression-based curriculum, with opportunities for all students to advance levels, accomplish goals, and develop significant life skills such as confidence, discipline, focus, and a mind for creative improvisation.

Parents are along for the ride the whole way too, thanks to our system of monthly Progress Reports which allow students to be assessed individually and thus progress together, in the same class, but at different levels and phases.

Break Free Kansas City – Building a Confident, Creative Community of Self-Expressive Artists

Shout out to Mrs. Kathy Quinn from Fox 4 News for supporting our studio and helping shine a positive light on the Hip Hop movement!

We are Kansas City’s premier Hip Hop School–where students of all ages, backgrounds, interests, abilities, and skills can create their own escape by gaining knowledge and hands-on experience with all new forms of artistic self-expression. Our classes are about learning the fundamentals, history, and pioneers of Breaking and of DJing, while encouraging flow, style, and self-expression. In this way, students build confidence, grow in strength, and they feel a part of the crew here at our studio…which is a safe place to gather with no judgement or expectations. Break Free Kansas City is also building unity through community outside of the studio as well, by encouraging the growing connections between our student families. Under the leadership of our owner and director SugEasy, we are building something truly unique and life-changing, so come try us out and feel the peace, love, unity and fun vibe of authentic Hip Hop culture!
